Course Expectations
I signed up for this course in hopes of learning how to integrate technology into education, figure out my role in this process, and learn about new technologies. Not to my surprise, I learned that integrating technology into the classroom requires extensive planning, but found it interesting that today's teacher (immigrants) will need more technology education than the students (natives). I consider myself to be a first generation immigrant so technology does not scare me, but it may take me a little longer to understand. As an advertiser, my job was to translate chemical engineering techie speak to layman terms. I will adapt this skill to help immigrants understand the new tools needed to teach the students of today. Moreover, I learned that there is a lot more to learn, but I look forward to the challenge. This is a crucial time to learn about technology because it is only going to grow faster. The quicker we as educators can integrate these skills in education the better prepared our students will be for the future.
