Week 3 reflection

This week's activities proved that a lot of time and thought is involved in developing an effective action research plan. For the most part, our action research plan is far from being an isolated event. Many stakeholders should be involved to provide the input necessary to carry out the plan. My plan involves my mentor, the district technology director, a core team of teachers at the high school, and the on-campus technology contact. All of these people will be involved at some point of the plan, so communication is crucial to the success of the plan.
One of the problems I foresee is having access to the aforementioned stakeholders, because I am not employed by the school system. Last semester, I completed my student teaching course with a master teacher at this campus. Since I am not affiliated with a school system, they have allowed me to work with the district as they implement their technology plan. It is very exciting to be involved in the roll-out of this plan because it will make them one of the most technology-equipped high schools in the area. However, my access to the teachers and working on the campus is limited because I am working at another school as a substitute teacher.  I want to be successful on my Internship and action research plans, and I also want to provide these stakeholders with effective and valuable tools to help them integrate technology into the classroom.
On a positive note, my focus on technology training tools for teachers is also an important topic to the district technology director with whom I will be working. I will be able to utilize her research on the subject along with other resources. I know that I will be welcomed by everyone on campus, I just want to careful of their time. I have posted my action research plan on my wiki. I invite anyone to take a look and offer suggestions.
